If some year groups follow a different schedule, you can set separate term dates and breaks without changing the calendar for the rest of the school.

Set up alternating weekly schedules when lessons follow a different pattern from one week to the next.

Keep important school events in one shared calendar. Add events such as:

• themed weeks
• parents' evenings
• mock exams
• academic competitions
• sports events
• other school activities

Staff, students and parents can see what is happening across the school and when.

Teachers can organise topics across the term in advance, making it easier to plan lessons and keep teaching on track.
