Tracking student attendance is one of the important and challenging tasks for school staff. When a student is absent, it is necessary to determine whether it is a safety concern or a disciplinary issue. Did the student come to school and miss the class, or did they not enter the school at all? How many classes has each student missed? Are there any students in the school who have missed more than 50% of their classes?
How does the Mojo service help to answer these questions?
The process involves the following stages:
- Receiving information that the student is absent.
- The teacher marks the absence and tardiness in the markbook.
- The absence mark is visible to the mentor, administrator, and parents of the student in their personal account.
- The absence information is displayed in the personal account of the parent and mentor.
- Generating a summary report on the number of classes missed by a specific student during the selected period.
In the future development of the service:
- Marking the absence as excused;
- Marking the absence by a medical worker/parent;
- Ability to mark absences for an extended period of time.
